Our Annual Homecoming Sunday planned for October 4th has been postponed due to the new COVID restrictions released on September 23. In these latest guidelines no indoor church meetings are permitted in Sacramento County until further notice. While this has been very disappointing news, we do want to guard the health and safety of all our church family.

Plans for now are to reschedule the Homecoming Celebration at the earliest possible date. Each year this Sunday has provided a time for us to get together and visit with longtime friends and member of our congregation. We’ve never wanted it more than this year.

When we do meet, we’ll need to observe the 6’ distancing restrictions when being seated in the auditorium, but families will be able to sit together. Personal masks will be required and a check in station will have a non-contact thermometer for checking everyone’s temperature. Hand washing stations and gloves will be available at each entrance.

In the meantime, our church family will be able to stay connected by live-feed worship, mailings and conference calling. We encourage you to connect us on Sunday mornings at 10:45 on our live feed at www.ArdenChurch.org. It’s so important we continue to live out our faith in these difficult times. Doing worship together, praying for each other, studying God’s word in our small groups and Sunday School classes, giving our tithes and offerings and serving one another.  We’re still planning a worship service in November and December as health officials permit. See the rest of this newsletter for details on which Sundays we will plan to worship together.

Really looking forward to being with you!

Pastor Jim
